Redstow Renewables is an agri waste/energy crop fed plant producing vital renewable electricity and biofertiliser.
In a landmark green energy partnership with the Ministry of Defence, around 70% of the electricity generated by Redstow Renewables flows directly into RAF Marham, making it the first airbase in the UK to be powered almost completely by renewable energy (95%) The surplus electricity is exported to the National Grid for use by local homes and businesses.
Energy crops used are coordinated with local farming rotations, helping to build up soil organic matter which offers an alternative control method for weed and pest issues.
