History of the AD Site

  • The AD facility, originally approved by Suffolk County Council in 2009, was an innovation in waste management.
  • Unfortunately, the site underperformed and was later closed by the original funders.
  • Today, the facility still exists, but all wastes have been removed.
  • With Bio Capital’s expertise, we are committed to revitalising the facility, ensuring it meets the high standards of environmental responsibility needed today.

Why This Project is Important

Key Drivers for Rebuilding the AD Site

Strategic Need for Adnams

Adnams Brewery faces the challenge of managing their brewery waste sustainably. This facility will help manage waste locally, supporting Adnams' green fleet of HGVs and reducing environmental impact.

Suffolk Climate Emergency

With climate change a pressing issue, Suffolk’s Climate Emergency declaration highlights the need for better food waste management. The AD site will enable the local community to comply with regulations mandating food waste segregation and processing.

Food Waste Regulation

The UK is moving toward stricter regulations on food waste collection and disposal. The rebuilt AD facility will be essential in meeting these regulatory requirements locally and provide a solution.
